Lakawon Island Resort
Lakawon is 48 kilometres (30 mi) north of Bacolod City, the provincial capital. The island is accessible from the coast of Barangay Cadiz Viejo via a 20-minute boat ride. Lakawon's white sand beach is claimed to rival that of Boracay, a popular island resort off the coast of Aklan in Panay. In stark contrast to its more famous counterpart, however, Lakawon has a smaller influx of tourists, and the island is not commercially developed.
Campuestohan Highland Resort
Campuestohan Highland Resort is the brainchild of the visionary couple Ricardo “Cano” Tan and Nita Tan. Its history is as lovely and grand as the present beauty that awaits visitors who take the time out to commune with nature in this glorious haven in Negros Occidental.
The Ruins
Known variously as the "Taj Mahal of Talisay", "Taj Mahal of Negros" and "Taj Mahal of the Philippines", it is in the private ownership of the great-grandchildren of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson and Cora Maria Osorio Rosa-Braga. They have preserved it in its ruined state, amidst operational farmland, as a tourist attraction that can be visited for a fee or hired for events. It is open to daily visitors from 8am to 8pm for a small entrance fee of PHP100 adults, PHP 50 students and PHP20 children.
